October – In progress

Earlier this month, I finished the scarf my boyfriend requested this year. My track record with finishing knits he requested hasn’t always been great (he had to wait patiently for two years until his first sweater was done!), so it feels like a great accomplishment. His scarf is finished and it isn’t even cold outside yet.

With that big project done, I’m left with three projects I’m currently working on. There are lots more that are in progress, and that I should finish or frog, but I’ll talk about those some other time.

Uniform Cardigan

I’m very much looking forward to finishing this cardigan so I can wear it! I’m holding Filcolana Tilia (which is a mohair laceweight) together with Filcolana Arwetta Classic. Mohair is very trendy right now, and I can understand why. This really is the softest thing I’ve ever knit. Right now I’m almost done with the second sleeve. After that it’s just the neckband to go and then I will be finished.

Sparkle Cardigan

As soon as I finish my Uniform cardigan, this one will get a little bit more attention. I’ve cast this on as part of the Joji Fall KAL (knit along) which officially ends at the end of November. I’m knitting this one out of Gregoria Fibers Dunes Fingering which is an absolutely beautiful blend of wool, silk and linen. Even though the pattern is quite addictive, I don’t think I will be able to make the deadline, but that’s just fine.

Harlow Hat

This has been my impromptu cast on this month. I had ordered the Feel Good yarn club by Laine Magazine, and wanted to use one of the colours as soon as I saw it. However, it was highly variegated and not really something I would wear as socks. I love how you can make the craziest colour look wearable by combining it with a neutral and knitting it into brioche. I think this’ll be a great hat to for early fall weather. I’m almost at the crown decreases, so it should be finished before November starts.

So there’s a chance I might finish two more project this October, which is exciting. I have some upcoming plans for sewing. I’m also thinking about setting a challenge for myself for the next few months, but I’ll tell you more about that soon.

Happy knitting!
